The old concrete yard was covered in ivy, tired and dirty. Alice, an International Flight Attendant, had been placed on furlough, so keen for something to do and desperate for usable outdoor space, she got to work creating a stunning garden oasis with Rust-Oleum paints.
Alice shared her garden transformation on her Instagram account @theredhanoverhouse and has shown exactly what can be done in a small amount of time, after completely revamping the entire garden in just 5 days with a budget of £300.
Speaking with Rust-Oleum, Alice said “Everything that you can see in our garden was done by us, without help! I had an idea in my mind of how I wanted it to look and we just went for it! I’m so pleased with how it tuned out and we’ve loved every minute of relaxing in our new back garden. It’s crazy what a lick of paint can do to transform a space”.
Alice started by painting the walls in a white masonry paint, before adding a cool scallop design with Rust-Oleum Universal All-Surface Paint in Misty Grey, and an old dinner plate.
Once dry, Alice added a stunning Moroccan stencil design to one wall, using a stencil from dizzyduckdesigns.com.
Rust-Oleum Universal All-Surface is an advanced paint and primer in one, designed for direct application to a wide range of surfaces, including masonry and metal. It is also suitable for exterior use, making it perfect for garden makeovers.
Rust-Oleum Universal All-Surface spray paint and added a cute pop of colour to the plant pots with Rust-Oleum Painter’s Touch in Candy Pink.
The old bistro set was given a fresh lick of paint too, with Universal All-Surface Paint in the colour Thyme. For extra room to stretch out and relax, Alice also added a brand-new outdoor sofa.
To complete the look, Alice and her boyfriend laid AstroTurf (self-taught with YouTube tutorials), added some potted plants, and accessorised with handmade outdoor cushions she had sewn.
