How To Make A Wedding Table Centre Piece

Wedding Decorations

Summer is the season of love and the perfect time to plan your wedding! Creating the perfect wedding can be an expensive affair but there’s no need to break the bank.

Just incorporate some simple DIY décor solutions into the planning of your wedding to save on the pennies.

From personalised glasses and wedding favours to beautiful centre pieces, the possibilities are endless. With a little imagination and a few hours of crafting, anyone can create beautiful wedding decorations to add your own personality into your special day.

For this project (above) we used Rust-Oleum Metallic spray paint to transform everyday items from the home and garden into stunning centre pieces at a fraction of the cost. We spray-painted a selection of glass bottles and a plate with metallic sprays and dressed with flowers and candles to produce rustic feel.

Give it a go yourself with our step-by-step guide…

What you will need

– Rust-Oleum Metallic in Bright Gold

– Rust-Oleum Metallic in Gold

– Rust-Oleum Metallic in Copper

– A selection of glass bottles/jars

– A large plate

– Flowers/candles to dress

Steps

  1. Move the object(s) to be painted to a well-ventilated area and place on top of newspaper or a dust sheet. Protect the surrounding area with additional dust sheets or newspaper.

  2. Ensure surfaces to be painted are clean and dry, and mask off any areas you do not wish to be painted.

  3. Using your selected colour, hold the can approximately 30cm from the surface of the object(s) and spray in a steady back and forth motion, slightly overlapping with each stroke. For best results, whilst spraying ensure the can remains the same distance from the surface and keep the can in motion. Apply several light coats a few minutes apart.

  4. Once dry, arrange the bottles upon the plate and dress the flowers and candles.
