Looking to transform side tables into statement pieces? With a unique 5-in-1 nozzle, Switch is the perfect way to revamp your favourite furniture, or give upcycling finds a new lease of life with a stunning new shade. Read on to discover how to refresh tables, drawers and more with an unexpected pop of colour.

What you will need

  • Rust-Oleum Switch
  • Krud Kutter Cleaner / Degreaser
  • Sanding block / electric sander
  • Clean cloth
  • Dust sheet

Steps

  1. Remove any loose or flaking paint by thoroughly sanding your table. You may also want to put down a dust sheet to protect your floor. Clean your furniture with Krud Kutter in order to remove any dust, dirt or other contaminants. Rinse thoroughly with a clean damp cloth and allow to dry.

  2. Now you’re ready to start spraying! Shake the can vigorously for one minute and set the Switch dial to number 2, selecting the Standard nozzle for an easy to use, classic spray pattern. Hold the can roughly 30cm away from the surface and spray the top of the table horizontally, in a steady back and forth motion, while slightly overlapping each stroke.

If spraying a bare metal or plastic table, make sure to use a suitable primer first.

  3. Spray the table legs or column vertically using the same method, and any other nooks and crannies you may have missed. Apply a second coat within an hour if necessary.

Top tip: after use, turn the can upside down and spray for 2-3 seconds to clear the spray nozzle, so it’s ready for your next project. Repeat this step for each nozzle by rotating the dial.

  4. And that’s it! Touch dry in 15 minutes and hard dry in 4 hours, complete your project in a day and revamp furniture with a simple yet effective makeover. We painted this bedside table jewel-toned Midnight Blue, for a striking accent against this mustard backdrop.

From chairs and stools to side tables and storage units, Switch has a spray nozzle to suit your project. With 22 stunning shades and matt, satin and gloss finishes to choose from, upcycle your furniture with a refreshing new colour.
