A nation of spray painters?
Yes we most certainly are! Spray paint is being used more and more in and around the home to paint a whole host of objects from traditional chairs and picture frames to intricate sewing boxes and guitars, and what’s more those using spray paint are not afraid to tackle huge projects, often involving re-spraying a whole kitchen or completely transforming a fireplace!
These are just some of the interesting findings Rust-Oleum have uncovered through their “Show Us Your Stuff” competition. Since the start of May, Rust-Oleum have been encouraging their spray paint customers to upload pictures of their latest projects onto their website, www.rustoleumspraypaint.com, where a £250 cash prize and 10 runner up prizes can be won every month until the end of December 2012.
“In just a couple of months we have seen some fantastic entries, some very adventurous projects, and some more creative than others!” explains Emma Irving from Rust-Oleum. “The most surprising so far was a life size Star Wars model!” Emma continues “Most entries to date are from customers that are updating old or second hand objects to great effect.” It’s evident that where people want to create a one-off object or don’t have the money to buy something new, spray paint is the answer as the finish gives that shop-bought look and is so quick and easy to achieve. Plus, mixing new with old, turning something old into something new and combining colours and patterns with abandon are key interior trends that are being talked about for Autumn/ Winter 2012.
This is great news for spray paint fans who relish the challenge of revamping old, tired objects from charity shops and car boot sales! If you haven’t yet given spray painting a go, find out how easy it is at www.rustoleumspraypaint.com, and enter your next project to the “Show Us Your Stuff” competition, for a chance to win great prizes!
