Rust-Oleum have once again published their “Make It Yours” magazine, available free of charge in B&Q and Homebase stores, and available through their website www.rustoleumspraypaint.com. Following on from the roaring success of last years edition, the pocket sized magazine continues to provide hundreds of creative ideas for using spray paint in your home and garden. This second edition also introduces readers to some of Rust-Oleum’s “Show Us Your Stuff” competition winners. The hugely successful competition has been running for over 12 months (and will continue until December 2012) awarding a prize of £250 each month to the best spray paint project. In addition ten runners up each receive a bumper back of spray paint. Entrants simply upload a photograph of their project undertaken with Rust-Oleum spray paint to the Rust-Oleum website to be in with a chance of winning. Winning entries are displayed on the website each month.
The new “Make It Yours” presents some of the 2011 competition winners who were invited to a workshop where they shared their tips for spray painting as well as showing readers how easy it is to spray paint with some simple, inspirational projects. One winner, Joanne Lomas from Sheffield, explained how it was the first issue of “Make It Yours’ that first inspired her to give spray painting a go, “In fact my winning entry was my first foray into spray painting” she reveals “Just don’t be afraid to give it a go! “.
Emma Irving, Product Manager for Rust-Oleum explains the aim of the magazine, “Spray painting is so simple to do and the result can be outstanding. It can totally transform some shabby furniture or give a uniform look to accessories in the home and garden. With the help of our second Make It Yours we really want to show how ordinary people with no DIY experience have transformed objects with ease and with a professional, even finish that you can only get with spray paint. We want this issue to not only inspire but to promote the “anyone can do it” message!”
