DECEMBER 2018 COMPETITION WINNERS
Thank you to all who entered our Make it Yours competition in December. It was a tough month for judging with so many inspirational upcycles and transformation projects to choose from. However, with much deliberation, we have chosen 10 runners up and our lucky top prizewinner.
The top prize this month of £250 went to Stephen Ansell who upcycled a pine dresser which he bought 18 years ago. Typical of pine it had gone a bit ‘orange’ so he decided to give it a makeover. He painted the dresser in Rust-Oleum Satin Finish Furniture Paint the colours – Shortbread and Slate.
Runners up
Amanda upcycled a secondhand, six-drawer pine unit and gave it a fresh facelift with Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Winter Grey. Good as new!
Brent Storey updated a Mexican pine television cabinet with a coat Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Winter Grey. We love it.
Heather updates some old pine dining chairs which she’s had for 30 years! Rather than throwing them out she fixed them up Rust-Oleum Satin Finish Furniture Paint in Cotton. They have been beautifully transformed!
Jenny Steel upcycled a dining table and six chairs with Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Anthracite. She then added a coat of Rust-Oleum Furniture Lacquer to protect her handiwork!
John Banham is a hobby woodcarver and created this cocker spaniel headcarved in lime, mounted on a country walking stick. He then coated his work with Rust-Oleum Painter’s Touch in Black Gloss.
Marina transformed a wooden sideboard with doors and drawers with Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Winter Grey. She then added a coat of Rust-Oleum Crystal Clear to protect her paint work.
Melissa Tweed found this vase in her local charity shop for £2.99 and livened it up with Rust-Oleum Metallic spray paint in Bright Copper. We love it!
Michelle Beading transformed an old chest of drawers from drab to fab! This piece of furniture was given a new lease of life with Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Ink Blue and added shiny gold knobs.
Sally bought this plywood cutlery box from a famous auction site and gave it a modern makeover with Rust-Oleum White Gold metallic spray paint.
Sharon gave a three drawer bedside cabinet a fresh pop of colour with Rust-Oleum Satin Finish Furniture Paint in Teal. Great work!
