The top prize this month went to Sarah Bonnar, with her beautifully up-cycled dining room table and chairs. She painted her charity shop find in Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Chalk White and finished it with Furniture Finishing Wax. To compete the look she then reupholstered the chairs with bright funky fabrics. We really love the transformation, Sarah and hope you enjoy spending your £250 prize money!
Pam Eyre has created a really sophisticated hall table and mirror using contrasting colours of Winter Grey and Anthracite from the Chalky Finish Furniture Paint range. Using the lighter colour to highlight the details on the mirror and the table is a really effective technique. Well done, Pam.
Carol Mason repurposed a dark wood hall stand into a wardrobe with the use of Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Chalky White, finishing the look with some pretty wallpaper to highlight the paneling. We applaud Carol for taking on such a large project, it looks brilliant!
Helen Mackie updated a tired looking pine bed, turning it into a very desirable piece of furniture indeed using Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Duck Egg, finished with a coat of Furniture Finishing Wax.
Jacquie Heathcote transformed 1940s child’s high chair with a fun paint job and finish. She painted the high chair in Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Belgrave and sealed the paint with Toy Safe Clear Sealer. Finished off with some funky cherry material, this has instantly updated it into something extremely cool and retro.
Debbie Carmichael has revamped what she describes as a beautiful but uninspiring grandfather clock with the help of Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Antique White and some added details, using mouldings and decoupage. She comments “I love this paint, it’s so easy to use and gives great results each time. It dries quickly and it’s easy to achieve different effects”.
Gemma Cooper has yet again produced some wonderful furniture, this time using Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Chalk White and Anthracite, finished with the Furniture Finishing Wax. She has totally transformed and updated two old fashioned chairs and a post cabinet. We love your pieces, always very stylish!
Jakub Kohout has made over a small one-draw cabinet with the use of Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Antique White, distressing the paintwork has made it into a very chic piece of furniture. Great work!
Luke Sanwo has given an art deco sideboard a new glamorous lease of life with Universal Metallic in Pure Gold and finished off with some crystal knobs. We think this looks fantastic, Luke and the colour is very in keeping with the style of the piece.
Michelle Weaver has taken an old gold mirror and painted it with Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Antique White and distressed it slightly to reveal the original gold finish beneath. She finished it off with a coat of Furniture Finishing Wax. This is a great technique, Michelle – the gold showing through the paintwork must look very striking.
Caroline Griffiths very skilfully produced this handmade glass panel and updated a frame to house it. She used Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Bramwell as the base and Clotted Cream as a top layer, and then lightly sanded back some areas. She then finished the look with a layer of Furniture Finishing Wax, a totally unique piece!
