Aimee Mcgough has beautifully updated a Louis style dining room table and chairs with Chalk White from the Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint range, followed by a protective coat of Rust-Oleum Furniture Finishing Wax. The new look is finished off perfectly with the chairs seat cushions reupholstered in a grey crushed velvet, resulting in an extremely opulent finish.

Anna Wycliffe-Jones has re-purposed an old bathroom cabinet and transformed it into a plant stand for her kitchen. By removing the mirrored door she was left with open shelves, which she painted in Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Belgrave. Using a contrasting shade: Mustard, Anna has then stencilled in a floral design from the Rust-Oleum Nature Shapes stencil pack. To finish she added some potted plants and tea light candles, but plans to use her piece as a herb rack whilst cooking.

Ben Green has taken an old nicotine stained china cabinet, with attractive stained glass panels and rejuvenated it with a little TLC. He started by giving it a base coat of Rust-Oleum Metallic Finish Furniture Paint in Gold then overlaying this once dry with a coat of Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Winter Grey. Distressing the top layer of paint reveals the metallic basecoat beneath, producing the effect as seen in the photograph. Ben finished the piece by colour coordinating the cabinet’s handles and back panel and dealing the paintwork with a coat of Rust-Oleum Furniture Finishing Wax.

Chris Whalen has skillfully updated a stylish set of 1930’s drawers with Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Graphite. Fully painting the piece in this dark shade, and distressing only the edges gives a really nice effect. Finished off with a coat of Rust-Oleum Furniture Finishing Wax and some new sparkly knobs the piece is complete.

Debbie Symonds has taken what was a drab dressing table from a charity shop and transformed it into a funky sideboard. She took inspiration from a decorative sign she already owned and applied the colours to the sideboard using Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Anthracite, Belgrave and Sage Green. To protect the finish Debbie then applied a coat of Rust-Oleum Clear Sealer.

Holly Talyor has turned a dull set of pine drawers into a beautiful creation with the help of Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint. Using the colour Winter Grey she fully painted the drawers then very cleverly created a lace effect with some silver spray paint. Finished with some crystal handles this really looks the part.

Julianne Gerrard has beautifully restored an old ornate bookcase, chair and stool using Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Chalk White. A fresh, new finish brings these pieces bang up to date and with the fabric finishing touches these pieces now look very high end.

Lisa Benney has performed a full restoration on an old washstand that was in much need of some TLC. After treating it for woodworm and cleaning the original stained tiles she fully painted it in Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Antique White. The results speak for themselves; this piece has been totally transformed and restored.

Rachel Willock put off by the price of marquee lights has ingeniously created her own illuminated letters of her and her partner’s initials. Using some premade cardboard letters as a starting point she punched holes through the middle and then coated them in Rust-Oleum Metallic Bright Copper spray paint. Once dry she could then push the LED fairy lights through the holes and her marquee letter were complete. An extremely inexpensive way of making something that is totally unique and wonderfully handmade.

Stephanie Cripps bought a couple of old dressing tables that had seen better days and transformed them into some very stylish sideboards. Using Rust-Oleum Painter’s Touch in Antique White she painted only the drawer fronts and then sealed them with Rust-Oleum Crystal Clear Matt spray paint. They are now a highly desirable piece of furniture and very “on trend”.
