Remove any loose paint or rust by scraping and wire brushing, or sanding your railings. Make sure to protect yourself with a mask and/or goggles.
Once you’ve ensured that the surface is smooth, clean your metal railings with Krud Kutter Cleaner / Degreaser to remove any dirt, dust, debris or other contaminants. Rinse thoroughly and allow to dry.
Tip: You may wish to lay down a dust sheet to protect the pavement from drips and spills.
Stir the Metal Expert Water-Based Metal Paint thoroughly before use. Apply with a suitable brush or roller. If using a roller, move back and forth, rolling away from previously coated areas. If spraying, dilute the paint with up to 10% water.
Apply a second coat after 4 hours if necessary. Paint small details a different metallic shade for the finishing touch.
