Rainbow Care Package DIY
In a time where we can’t be close to friends and family,rainbows have emerged as a sign of hope and togetherness.
In this DIY, we show you how to create a colourful charm using Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint and air clay. Send it in the post as part of a care package to brighten a loved one’s day.
What you will need
- Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint (125ml)
- White air clay
- Rolling pin
- Pain tin opener
- Artists paint brushes
- Toothpick
- Wooden beads
- String
- Round cookie cutter or drinking glass
Steps
Roll out the clay to approximately 2 cm thickness. Use a round cookie cutter (or glass from your kitchen) to cut out circles, and cut the circles in half to create two rainbows.
Using a toothpick, poke a hole through the top of your rainbow.Smooth out edges with your finger and leave to dry overnight under a book. This will ensure that they dry flat.
To decorate, we recommend Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint 125ml pots. There’s also no need to prime as chalk paint will stick to virtually any surface! Once decorated with your chosen shades, leave to fully dry.
Next, place your string through the hole at the top of your rainbow.Thread the wooden beads onto the thin twine and your ornaments are ready for gifting.
