KEEP CALM AND PAINT YOUR BEDROOM

HessianMirrorCloseUp1

If there’s one room in the house that needs to be relaxing it’s your bedroom. It should be a stress-free, sleep-inducing sanctuary and the décor can help to achieve this.

The key is, unsurprisingly, colour selection. By using calming colours you’ll set the tone and establish the right atmosphere for this most personal of spaces. So if you want breezy over bold, here’s some colours to get you thinking.

Grey

We love it and so does everyone else, given its popularity over the years. Grey guarantees a cool and sophisticated space with a relaxing atmosphere.

For your furniture, try Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Winter Grey or Flint. If you prefer a gloss finish, there’s also Rust-Oleum Gloss Finish Furniture Paint in Dove and Mineral Grey.

Neutral

When you combine a neutral bedroom with cushions and throws to add texture, it really does result in a beautiful interior scheme. Neutral colours are always soft and only ever enhance the calmness in a room.

For your furniture, try Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Chalk White, Antique White, Hessian or for added warmth – Butterscotch and Salted Caramel. If you prefer a satin finish, there’s also Rust-Oleum Satin Finish Furniture Paint in Cotton, Shortbread and Mocha.

Pink

Pinks

Adding subtle tones of pink into a neutral room will maintain the calming colour scheme while injecting a bit of character. Soft pinks especially, will brighten the room and give it the lift you’re looking for.

Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Coral, Strawberry Vanilla and China Rose would be enough to add a splash of pink. You can also try Rust-Oleum Satin Finish Furniture Paint in Pink Champagne.

Purple

Being slightly bolder, purple is an alternative choice to introduce a relaxing palette to the bedroom. When paired with neutrals and greys, purple will add a luxurious feel to the decor.

Find out for yourself with Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Lilac Wine or Violet Macaroon.
