DIY storage jars are not only the craft project of choice for many first timers but they remain a firm favourite for the more experienced up cycler as the possibilities really are endless.
Anything from mason jars and baby food pots to old candle holders can be given a new purpose just touch of creativity and a few coats of paint.
For this project we turned outdated kitchen storage jars (above) into funky children’s storage pots perfect for crayons, Lego and toy cars.
We used Painter’s Touch Spray Paint in Barlmoral for the main jars and Black Gloss for the lids. For added detail, we created numeral motifs using super glue to attach fabric numbers to each (you can pick these up at most haberdasheries or craft stores).
If you fancy giving it a go this weekend, why not get creative and play with varying patterns on the lids or test out colour combinations by painting each jar in a different colour?
