Christmas can be filled with clichés if you’re not careful. We find the best way to get into the spirit of things while sprinkling on some originality is by making some of your own decorations to be proud of every time you walk through the front door.

Easy to make and with maximum style impact, you can really fashion a yarn statement with one of these fab creations. Add other elements like spare tree decorations and novelty miniatures to transform yours into a kitsch dream.

 

MAKE IT YOURS: Get some brightly coloured wool and a pom pom maker and see what bespoke creation you can rustle up. Want to add some baubles to the mix? Use Rust-Oleum Neon in pink to update some of your old decorations.

 

Ceiling Medallion Wreaths

This wreath is a subtle and ingenious way to produce a stylish Christmas decoration without going all-out festive. With bright colour pops and contrasting ribbon, they’re super easy to make using polystyrene ceiling medallions, are lightweight and simple to paint.

 

MAKE IT YOURS: Get yourself a couple of ceiling medallions, spray with Rust-Oleum Universal in Sunset Orange or Racing Green and tie it with a ribbon.

 

Paper Cut Wreaths

Huge in the greetings card world, paper cut techniques have now leant their style to Christmas wreaths. Strictly for indoors, these beautifully delicate paper wreaths have been constructed from individual shapes cut from paper and built up to create these wonderful designs above. Inexpensive and a great project to set your mind to, the only limit is your imagination.
