The dilemma is solved by a simple DIY project which can take just one weekend to complete. Try beautifully co-ordinating your picture frames so they complement the colour scheme of your home.
There’s no need to buy a whole host of new frames, instead keep the ones you have and unify them with colour. The mixture of textures, sizes and styles of the frames can look great all together once they blend into the style of the room.
To demonstrate, we painted the above selection of IKEA picture frames which were originally white (below).
We prepped their surface by using used Rust-Oleum Surface Primer in White followed by Rust-Oleum Painter’s Touch in Slate Blue (Satin), Winter Grey (Gloss), Dark Grey (Gloss), Navy Blue (Gloss).
Even though the contents of the frames differ in colour and style they look like they belong together now the colour scheme is themed.
If you want to go for something a little more elegant, use Rust-Oleum Metallic Spray Paint in a range of Gold, Copper and Silver shades for a timeless finish. Alternatively, crisp white picture frames are great for displaying a collection of black and white photographs.
