4 Thrifty And Fun Festivals To Attend In 2016

Whether you’re a dab-hand at upcycling or prefer to peruse the talents of others before tackling a project, inspiration is likely to be the key to the success of most projects.

What better way to get those creative juices flowing than visiting a festival dedicated to upcycling, crafts and creativity.

We’ve picked five of our favourite thrifty and fun festivals across the UK that deserve a spot in your diary. Calendars at the ready, you’re going to want to note these down…

1. Vintage Festival

This one’s for the actors among you. Take a trip in history and get an authentic makeover for the day at Vintage Festival. Whether your into swing, soul, mod or rockabilly you’re sure to have a ‘funky’ time basking in pop culture and cultural movements of the 20th Century. What’s more? It’s perfect for all ages!

2. The Classic Car Boot Sale

If you’re a fan of vintage wheels or simply love digging around in a treasure trove of old bric-brac, The Classic Car Boot Sale at London’s Kings Cross is the place to be. For petrol heads and vinyl collectors alike you’ll find a little bit of everything as well as music, dance and walkabout entertainment.

3. The Decorative Home and Salvage Show

Taking place across three locations, this travelling antique and furniture show is a sanctuary for reclaimed fittings, furnishings and salvaged materials. Moving from Ripley Castle to Cheshire Showgrounds and on to Loseley Place these vendors show off some of the finest antiques and upcycled gems in some of the most beautifully rural settings.

4. Festival of Thrift

Living sustainability with style, The Festival of Thrift annual event shows how reusing, recycling and upcycling can be fun, affordable whilst also benefiting the environment. Be inspired by artists, stalls, workshops and demonstrations from the the craft elite.
