Thank you to all who entered our Make It Yours competition in March. It was a tough month for judging with a multitude of inspirational upcycles and transformation projects to choose from. However, with much deliberation we have chosen 10 runners up and our lucky top prize winner.
The top prize this month of £250 went to Richard Davis who created this rustic wedding welcome board for a friend.Richard transformed old wooden pallets by sanding them down. He then painted them with Rust-Oleum Painter’s Touch in Espresso and distressed the paint slightly with sandpaper. Next, Richard created his letter design with Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Chalk White and topped it all off with some fake ivy. A lovely gift!
Claire Smith upcycled an old pine chest of drawers and matching bedside table with Rust-Oleum. After sanding down each item to reveal the bare wood underneath, Claire painted the units with Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Graphite. She left the tops bare and added beautiful bunny knobs to complete the look.
We love this pink and gold dipped chair from Becky Parsons. This look was created with Rust-Oleum Metallic Finish Furniture Paint in Gold and Rust-Oleum Satin Finish Furniture Paint in Pink Champagne.
Carole Handford updated two bedside tables with Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Antique White and protected the paint with Rust-Oleum Furniture Finishing Wax in Clear. She then added lovely floral fabric to the sides and insides to complete the look.

Sammy Mason added some glam to a vintage sewing machine treadle, which she found in her back garden. After removing the rust, Sammy primed the metal, then applied a few coats of Rust-Oleum Painter’s Touch spray paint in Copper . She then added a leftover sample of granite, which was luckily the perfect fit!

Rio Elliot-Smith created this amazing garden furniture with old pallets to create a seating area suitable for ten people. The wood was painted with Rust-Oleum Painter’s Touch in White and finished the look with navy and pink cushions.
Stefan Wheatcroft has given this tired chest of drawers a new lease of life with Rust-Oleum Satin Finish Furniture Paint in Slate. This bare wood and paint combo looks amazing!
