Thank you to all who entered our Make It Yours competition in May. It was a tough month for judging with a multitude of inspirational upcycles and transformation projects to choose from. However, with much deliberation we have chosen 10 runners up and our lucky top prizewinner.
The top prize this month of £250 went to Jasper Komen bought a 70’s drinks cabinet for only £20 and with the help of Rust-Oleum, gave it a geometric makeover. Using Rust-Oleum Satin Finish Furniture Paint in Cotton and Rust-Oleum Gloss Finish Furniture Paint in Dove and Lemon Sorbet, Jasper added a modern design and a bright pop of colour to this chic sideboard. We love it!
Abigail Coules gave an old stained veneer chest of drawers a new lease of life with Rust-Oleum Satin Finish Furniture Paint in Shortbread and Rust-Oleum Metallic Finish Furniture Paint in Gold for beautiful metallic accents. Fab job!
Daniel Shaw painted his pine coffee table with Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Clotted Cream and added a protective coat of Rust-Oleum Furniture Finishing Wax, Clear. We love this fresh new look.
Hollie created a cool design on a plain white plant pot using masking tape and Rust-Oleum White Gold Metallic spray paint. Very chic!
John Rimmer refreshed the look of an ornate cast iron bird bath using Rust-Oleum Painter’s Touch brush paint in Black, Satin and Rust-Oleum Painter’s Touch craft pots in Old Penny Bronze. This fab new look has really brightened the metal work.
Leanne added orange accents to this half moon table using Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Pumpkin and sealed the finish with Rust-Oleum Furniture Finishing Wax, Clear. This splash of colour looks fab with the fox detailing.
Margaret Smith used Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Laurel Green to brighten up an old, dark wood bookcase. Margaret then added birdhouse decals to freshen it up and finish the look.
Matthew Fennell gave his walnut nesting tables a new lease of life with Rust-Oleum Gun Metal Metallic spray paint. He also sanded back the table top reveal the lighter, bare wood. Looks fab!
Naomi Templar’s dark wood, varnished extending table and chairs that weren’t quite her style, so she decided to give them a modern makeover using Rust-Oleum Gloss Finish Furniture Paint in Mineral Grey. Naomi then recovered the seats to add a pop of colour to bring it up to date.
Sean Sparkes did a great job custom making his own mid-century TV unit from scratch! Sean painted the outside using Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Cocoa mixed with Chalk White. For the inside of the unit, used mixed Rust-Oleum Satin Finish Furniture Paint in Slate with Rust-Oleum Satin Finish Furniture Paint in Cotton. Well done Sean, great job!
Stacey Rosser had a dressing table in need of an update, she achieved the new look using Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Belgrave with hints of Rust-Oleum Painters Touch, Antique Gold on the metal, following this Stacey protected the surface using Rust-Oleum Furniture Finishing Wax, Clear.
