Thank you to all who entered our Make it Yours competition in April. It was a tough month for judging with so many inspirational upcycles and transformation projects to choose from. However, with much deliberation, we have chosen 10 runners up and our lucky top prize winner.
The top prize this month of £250 went to Sheryl who made a dining room table from scratch! Sheryl used Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Chalk White and Anthracite and sanded it down to created a washed wood effect. To protect the finish, Sheryl used Rust-Oleum Furniture Finishing Wax, Clear. The table fits perfectly in the window bay too. Well done!
Fiona bought a chest of drawers in need of some TLC. After repairing the drawers she used Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Graphite and added a protective coat of Rust-Oleum Furniture Finishing Wax, Dark to give an industrial vibe. To enhance this look Fiona sanded down the drawer fronts and applied Rust-Oleum Furniture Finishing Wax, Clear to two of the drawer fronts, and added a Dark wax to the third. To complete the piece Fiona’s husband built an industrial bracket for the back of the unit and added new handles. Amazing work!
Emma completed a modern makeover on these mahogany dining chairs using Rust-Oleum Satin Finish Furniture Paint in Carbon. To complete the look, Emma reupholstered the seats.
Clare bought an old cupboard for just £15 and transformed it with Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Duck Egg. Add a new set of handles and voila, job done!
Liam and Joel gave a plain pine butchers block a new lease of life with Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Spray Paint in Winter Grey. Well done!
Julie transformed the look and feel of this pine blanket box with Rust-Oleum Satin Finish Furniture Paint in Dove. Gorgeous!
