Thank you to all who entered our Make it Yours competition in May. It was a tough month for judging with so many inspirational upcycles and transformation projects to choose from. However, with much deliberation, we have chosen the 10 runners up and our lucky top prize winner.
The top prize this month of £250 went to Amanda who created an amazing feature wall in her daughter’s bedroom with Rust-Oleum Glitter Subtle Shimmer, Silver. The glitter additive was mixed in to a wall emulsion to create a gorgeous sparkle.
Caroline decided to make a feature of her stairs using an array of colours from the Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint range in Chalk White, Clotted Cream, Dusky Pink, Belgrave, Duck Egg, Laurel Green, Lilac Wine and China Rose. This looks fab!
Jade picked up this sideboard for free on the street! After cleaning it up Jade sprayed the handles with Rust-Oleum Painter’s Touch in Matt Black and added a black pattern to the front with Rust-Oleum Universal All-Surface Paint in Matt Black.
Jo painted a plain pine IKEA Trofast storage unit with Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Fire Brick and added a protective coat of Rust-Oleum Furniture Finishing Wax, Clear. To finish the look, Jo added a lovely print to the boxes. Well done!
Julie was inspired by the elephant print on her chest of drawers and gave her pine unit a new lease of life. She used Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Bramwell for the base colour and then stencilled a pattern with Duck Egg, Chalk White and Clotted Cream.
Kate upcycled an old 3-drawer bedside table with Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Ink Blue and Rust-Oleum Furniture Lacquer, Clear to protect the finish. She then added a map decoupage to finish the look!
Smaranda gave a drab sideboard a metallic makeover using Rust-Oleum Metallic in Gold and Rust-Oleum Universal All-Surface Paint, Matt Black. The transformation is incredible!
Steph updated two solid pine bedside tables with the help of Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Flint, added some new handles and voila!
Tracey transformed her fireplace and tv stand using Rust-Oleum Satin Finish Furniture Paint in Graphite. Good job!
Victoria bought an antique unit on ebay for £26 that was too dark for her décor. To brighten up the unit Victoria used Rust-Oleum Satin Finish Furniture Paint in Cotton inside and Slate on the outside, now it looks completely different. Well done!
Zoltan used Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Clotted Cream for the base of this unit then Fire Brick, Salmon, Powder Blue and Ink Blue for the hand painted floral motif. To protect the finished piece, Zoltan used Rust-Oleum Furniture Lacquer, Clear.
