Thank you to all who entered our Make it Yours competition in June. It was a tough month for judging with so many inspirational upcycles and transformation projects to choose from. However, with much deliberation, we have chosen the 10 runners up and our lucky top prize winner.
The top prize this month of £250 went to Patrick who completely transformed his dated, worn-out front door with Rust-Oleum Universal All-Surface Paint in Canary Yellow. We love the fun pop of colour!
Clare gave a mid-century bureau a new lease of life with Rust-Oleum Satin Finish Furniture Paint in Slate and created a geometric pattern by mixing in the colour Cotton. For the inside of the bureau, Clare used Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Winter Grey. Finally, Rust-Oleum Painter’s Touch in Silver was used to update the hardware and complete the look.
Emma found a 1930’s fire surround in a reclamation yard and gave it some much needed tlc with Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Chalk White and a protective coat of Rust-Oleum Furniture Finishing Wax, Clear.
Jo used Rust-Oleum Painter’s Touch in Sun Yellow to give her dark brown sleigh bed a brand new look. Looks amazing!
Sophie completed transformed her bathroom, beginning with the Rust-Oleum Tile Transformations kit to brighten all of the tiles. Sophie then used Rust-Oleum Stove & BBQ in Black Matt to give a new lease of life to her old, chrome towel radiator and wire shelves. Well done!
Jonathan handmade a coat rack and shoe closet and painted both in Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint, Dusky Pink. We love it!
Kirk salvaged some decorative metal flowers for his garden using Rust-Oleum Painter’s Touch in Spa Blue and Berry Pink. Well done!
Lee created the perfect beach-glam bedroom for his daughter with the help of Rust-Oleum Glitter Ultra Shimmer brush paint in Silver. Lee and his daughter love that the glitter sparkles across the wall at different times of the day and it’s the perfect feature when her nightlight is on!
Lisa restored some tired deck chairs to add character to her garden using Rust-Oleum Painter’s Touch, Black Satin. Lisa replaced the fabric and voilà, project complete!
Sam converted an old children’s desk into a chalkboard desk using Rust-Oleum Chalkboard Paint in Blue. For the grey edges, Sam mixed Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Chalk White and Graphite and adde a protective coat of Rust-Oleum Furniture Finishing Wax.
Sharon upcycled a charity shop dining chair with Rust-Oleum Painter’s Touch, Black Satin. To complete the look, she reupholstered the seat cushion with a vibrant abstract print. What a transformation!
