As more and more entries come in each month, we are amazed to see all of the tremendous transformations and beautiful upcycles. So many creative projects made it a tough task to choose our favourites, but with much deliberation the ten runners up and our lucky top prizewinner have been chosen.
The top prize this month of £250 went to Sarah Horton who beautifully renovated her 1980’s kitchen cupboard and units. This transformation was completed with the help of Rust-Oleum Satin Finish Furniture Paint in Mocha, along with a lick of paint, new flooring and worktops, this kitchen is unrecognisable!
Katie Banyard ingeniously repurposed an old sideboard, bought for £50 on Gumtree, into a beautiful double vanity unit. This makeover was achieved using Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Graphite for the exterior, and Winter Grey for the interior of the unit. For added durability and style, Katie used Rust-Oleum Furniture Finishing Wax in Dark for details, then finished the remainder of the unit with Rust-Oleum Furniture Finishing Wax in Clear.
John Feeney is a graffiti artist who has created an amazing canvas painting using stencils along with Rust-Oleum Low Tack Adhesive. He also used Rust-Oleum Painter’s Touch in Black Gloss, Navy Blue, Brilliant Blue, Spa Blue, White and Rust-Oleum Metallic Chrome to create this stunning masterpiece.
Egija Lace created a modern geometric design on an old coffee table bought for just £5, using Rust-Oleum Satin Finish Furniture Paint in Carbon and Rust-Oleum Metallic Finish Furniture Paint in Gold.
Aleksandra Zukowicz skilfully crafted this coffee table and painted it using Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Duck Egg and Cocoa with a protective coat of Rust-Oleum Furniture Finishing Wax, Dark.
Emma Shercliff has given an old pine dresser a new lease of life using Rust-Oleum Satin Finish Furniture Paint in Carbon and Shortbread to create this sophisticated look.
Karen Olley upcycled this 1960’s chest of drawers using Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Chalk White and Belgrave. She created this on trend ombre effect by mixing the two paints together to graduate the colour.
Laura Ellis repurposed nine cork tiles into a stylish geometric noticeboard by attaching the tiles to a piece of plywood. Masking each tile and painting half in Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Winter Grey achieved this funky design.
Emma Jones bought a second hand antique pine unit and gave it her own stamp by painting it with Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Hessian. She lightly distressed the finish before adding a protective coat of Rust-Oleum Furniture Finishing Wax, Clear.
Anneke Temmink bought a second hand solid pine chest of drawers and used Rust-Oleum Metallic Finish Furniture Paint in Gold as an undercoat. Anneke then painted a top coat of Rust-Oleum Satin Finish Furniture Paint in Teal, leaving some of the gold paint visible beneath.
Jade Finnan added modern detailing to her stairs using Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Chalk White. Jade masked areas on her stairs to create these geometric patterns, then sealed the look in using Rust-Oleum Furniture Finishing Wax in Clear.
