Thank you to all who entered our Make it Yours competition in November. It was a tough month for judging with so many inspirational upcycles and transformation projects to choose from. However, with much deliberation, we have chosen 10 runners up and our lucky top prize winner.
The top prize this month of £250 went to Marleen De Veij, who made paper mache lamps for her dining room using Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Flint for the exterior and Rust-Oleum Metallic Finish Furniture Paint in Gold. To finish the look Marleen added a splash of Rust-Oleum Glitter paint for some sparkle. Well done!
Tanya-Lisa Parsons transformed this desk using Rust-Oleum Painter’s Touch in Candy Pink, Berry Pink, Sun Yellow, Green Apple and French Lilac. We love the chevron design!
Melissa Tweed used Rust-Oleum Rose Gold for this metallic stool makeover and we love it!
Katerina used Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Garden Furniture Paint in Flint to transform her bathroom cabinets. This is a great idea as the paint is suitable for exterior use so can handle being in a bathroom!
Katarzyna Kopec added tonnes of personality to this IKEA chest of drawers using Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Fire Brick, Emerald, Sage, Bramwell, Chalk White, Belgrave, Cocoa, Mustard. Rust-Oleum Gloss Finish Furniture Paint in Lemon Sorbet, Empire Red, Key Lime. Rust-Oleum Metallic Finish Furniture Paint in Gold and a protective coat of Rust-Oleum Furniture Finishing Wax, Clear. Excellent job!
Jade Finnan upcycled this £15 charity shop find using Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Flint for the base followed by a Moroccan stencil design using Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Mustard. To finish, Jade added a protective coat of Rust-Oleum Furniture Finishing Wax, Clear and added new handles.
Gabriella Redman upcycled a pair of vintage lamps using Rust-Oleum Metallic Finish Furniture Paint in Silver as a base coat, followed by Rust-Oleum Satin Finish Furniture Paint in Pink Champagne. To get the crackle effect, Gabriella used Rust-Oleum Crackle Base Coat, after applying her base colour, and then used the Top Coat to seal her work. We love the feather lampshade to complete the look!
