May 2014 Competition Winners
Thank you to all who entered our Make It Yours competition in June.
Our judges were overwhelmed by the number of entries and the high level of creativity on display.
Congratulations to Annabel Greenwood who scooped the £250 top prize. Annabel painted and assembled items from a china tea set to create a unique ‘tea’ light, using Painter’s Touch spray paints.
Runners up
Angela Biddle bought an old filing cabinet with a dull finish and transformed it beyond belief, using Painter’s Touch spray paint, some old wallpaper cuttings and Crystal Clear protective top coat.
Victoria Smith made some lovely lanterns using plain glass jam jars and Rust-Oleum Frosted Glass spray paint (photo 3).
Eniko Halasz made an on-trend rocking chair by taking a plain chair and spraying it with Painter’s Touch and stenciling on the phrase “keep calm and rock on.”
Derek McLean rescued and old metal garden furniture set from his Mum’s garage that he informs us had not seen the light of day for at least 30 years! After cleaning it up and removing what he describes as generations of spiders’ webs he set about painting it using Rust-Oleum Surface Primer and two coats of Rust-Oleum Metallic Spray Paint. Great work, Derek!
Kimberley Hutchinson picked up white cluster pendant light in the sale section of her local hardware store. Although she loved the design she decided it would look better in black. She transformed it using Rust-Oleum Universal All Surface Black Gloss spray paint and finished the interior with Rust-Oleum Metallic Elegant Finish in Bright Copper. The end result, she says, is “superbly warm and reflective designer lighting for a fraction of the price!” We like your style, Kimberley.
Jeremy Crawshaw bought an old wooden lamp stand from a junk shop for £10.00 and brought it back to life with a simple application of Rust-Oleum Metallic spray paint in Chrome.
Joe Whittaker is a former winner of our Show Us Your Stuff competition. He picks up a runners up prize of 6 cans of spray paint for this superb spice rack, which he painted up to look like an old red phone box!
Michael Campbell made and painted a robot costume that is literally out of this world.
Louise Wilson repurposed an old tin as a plant point, giving it a new lease of life with Painter’s Touch spray paint.
Jessica Nicholas also used Painter’s Touch spray paint on the wooden frame of a garden seat.
