5 TERRIFYING TRICKS FOR HALLOWEEN DECORATIONS

Credit: Awesome 11

Love Halloween but haunted by the party planning? What you need is some last-minute DIY decoration tricks.

Here are five of the best to put you in a great ghastly mood this Halloween. Depending on how devilish you’re feeling, make them as silly or as scary as you like without breaking the bank.

1. Choose your Poison… Jars

Do you dare try a treat?! Poison jars look spooktacular and are a great way to test people’s cravings for candy. Grab some jars and bottles from your cupboards or the recycling bin, spray matt black and apply a label.

To create this look use Rust-Oleum Peelable. Once Halloween’s over, simply peel them off to exorcise the party!

2. Creepy Candle Holders

Candles are the best for creating a séance-like atmosphere. Before you start asking questions…we recommend using the increasingly popular mason jars for your candle holders. To achieved this effect, place a letter stencil over your jars and spray with frosted glass paint. You can see the flame through the jar and it looks amazing, we promise.

To create this look use Rust-Oleum Frosted Glass.

3. Scratch it into your Chalkboard

For us, a chalkboard is a must-have no matter what time of year. Not only are they ideal for shopping lists, they’re also great for leaving a message you’ll never forget (What’s your favourite scary movie?!) or pointing out where’s safe to go bobbing for apples. Thought of something scarier, no problem, wipe off and scrawl away.

To make your chalkboard use Rust-Oleum Chalkboard Paint on an unwanted picture frame.

4. Who’s there? It’s Monster Door!

Welcome to wacky this Halloween by creating your very own scare floor door! Make your monster door as frightening or friendly as you wish, that said we definitely prefer this friendlier version with its toothy smile and googly eyes.

To make yours, cover door in plastic and add some white bunting for the sharp teeth and wide eyes. All that’s left to do is…BOOO!

5. Kids Spooky Cans

Repurpose your used tin cans by turning them into a super-fun knock-em-down Halloween game. All you have to do is peel off the label and get painting. Simple games like this will help keep the kids entertained and cost pennies!

To make your little tin monsters, use Rust-Oleum Painter’s Touch and get creating!
