Thank you to all who entered our Make it Yours competition in March. It was a tough month for judging with so many inspirational upcycles and transformation projects to choose from. However, with much deliberation, we have chosen 10 runners up and our lucky top prize winner.
The top prize this month of £250 went to Kelly Haworth, who bought a sideboard for only £57 and repurposed it into this beautiful sink unit. Kelly used Rust-Oleum Satin Finish Furniture Paint in Pink Champagne to complete this gorgeous transformation, we especially love the wallpaper too!
Louise Harris made a small change with a huge impact. She gave a plain mirror a metallic makeover using Rust-Oleum Painter’s Touch Craft Enamel in Gold.
Callan Taylor refreshed an old drop leaf table with Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Blue Silk and Anthracite to create a wood stain effect, he then stencilled a pattern with Antique White and added a protective coating of Rust-Oleum Furniture Finishing Wax, Clear.
Stephen Ansell completely refreshed a 20-year-old pine table and chairs to give them a fresh modern look with Rust-Oleum Satin Finish Furniture Paint in Slate Grey and Shortbread.
Dawn Fotheringham gave an old oil lamp a new lease of life by stripping and sanding it before priming and adding a splash of modern metallic with Rust-Oleum Rose Gold Metallic spray paint.
Claire bought an old writing bureau from a charity shop and upcycled it using Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in China Rose. She then applied a protective coat of Rust-Oleum Furniture Lacquer to seal the project.
Pip bought a bargain light fitting, but it was the wrong colour! Using Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Antique White, she completely changed the look of the beading. She then transformed the metal work using Rust-Oleum Metallic Spray Paint in Bright Gold.
Stacey painted a retro chest of drawers with Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in China Rose and protected the paint finish with Rust-Oleum Furniture Finishing Wax, Clear. To complete the look, Stacey added wallpaper to the drawer fronts for a fun contrast.
Shonagh transformed her kitchen entirely with Rust-Oleum. Firstly, the cabinets were painted with Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Chalk White before adding a protective coat of Rust-Oleum Furniture Lacquer. Secondly Shonagh used the Rust-Oleum Worktop Transformation Kit to completely change the look of her worktops!
Jade found the perfect light fitting for her new kitche, but the silver wasn’t quite right. To ensure it fit perfectly with their décor, Jade used Rust-Oleum Universal All-Surface Spray Paint in Matt Black.
Amanda saved a display cabinet from the tip! Using Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint in Winter Grey, she transformed to look clean and modern. We love the flamingo paper on the back too!
